Overview:
The Jesus’ Helpers Ministries is a Christian teenager program for specially challenged teenagers. This monthly program provides them with a supervised outing to meet and share experiences with teenagers of similar challenges. Outings have ranged from lake swims, bowling nights, dances and overnight trips.
This program also utilizes the help of teenagers that accompany them to provide help and friendship; we refer to them as mentors. They provide assistance, as needed, to the teenagers and the adult escorts during events.
In addition, while the teenagers enjoy the outings the parent/care gives can participate in a quarterly support group. This group is a discussion forum led by a current teacher in the specially challenged field. Topics range the lists of interest that concern parent/care givers confront in raising a special needs teenager.
