Just the Right Place for Singing, Ringing, Chiming, or Playing Along!

The music ministry at FUMC of Madison is an active and growing ministry. Most importantly the ministry has a program that encompasses all ages. Children to adults can actively participate in our worship service and serve the Lord and our church through music.

Under the leadership of Kathleen Bryant and a handful of great volunteers our children's choirs have expanded and perform monthly in our worship service. Children ages 3-13 can attend our after school and Wednesdays night programs, where they participate in music, drama and fellowship. Click here to download the Children's Choir Schedule

Over three years old now, our Nine-Alive Praise Team offers praise and worship style music every Sunday at 9 AM. Involving a drum set, keyboard, guitars and amplifiers the four voice, 5 band member team rehearses weekly the newest praise choruses heard on Christian radio stations, as well some old familiar choruses dear to the church.

Our youth participate weekly in a Youth Choir time that meets during the Wonderful Wednesday programming. Yearly the youth join together in a great music program each summer. For one week in July our youth have an opportunity to travel to Oxford at Emory in Covington to participate in the North Georgia Conference Music Camp. While there, they practice in mass with over a hundred youth from around our conference. In addition to great singing youth can take classes in art, dance, drama, computers, theory, band guitar and many other great things. This year we are looking forward to a joint youth musical with the Baptist church and a youth choir tour.

Our handbell program offers yet another opportunity for members to serve. The five-octave bell choir is currently looking for ringers to participate. It requires a little music knowledge and extreme dedication. If you have never participated in handbells and want to be involved in a music ministry, handbells offer a unique and beautiful way to enhance our worship service. We rehearse each Wednesday night at 6:30 in the sanctuary. Enjoy our handbells as they begin to become an integral part of our worship service.

Our adult choir is our largest and most active group. The adult choir averages around 28 members and sings a variety of music from the classical period to contemporary styles. Our talented accompanists enhance our practice and worship on a beautiful grand piano and a three manual pipe organ. We rehearse each Wednesday night at 7:30 in the sanctuary and lead our music in the worship service every Sunday at 11:00 AM.

Music is truly a gift from God. Many of our church members say music speaks to them every Sunday. Performing music is even more meaningful.
