Madison FUMC Prime Timers
PRIME TIMERS
Just the Right Ministry for the Young at Heart
Whether you are working or retired...able or disabled...married or single, Prime-Timers is an opportunity for anyone 55 years of age and older to come to Madison FUMC and be strengthened and encouraged in their walk with God. Prime Timers offers an atmosphere of support and camaraderie, an opportunity for ministry, and a place of spiritual encouragement and fellowship for the young at heart in our church family.
Prime Timers meet on the fourth Thursday of each month in the Fellowship Hall for lunch, fellowship and an interesting program. The membership is made up of Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians, and others from the community. Many trips are taken through out the year including lunches at special restaurants, short day trips, as well as an annual long trip.
Pictured is a group that traveled eight days last October to the Amish County. The guided tour of the Amish Farms brought the life of the Amish and heritage of these humble and simple people to an understanding of their lives. We were even invited to eat in a real Amish home. Other stops such as the Delaware River Museum, Longwood Gardens, Winterthur – home of Francis I Du Pont, Strasburg Railroad, Sight & Sound’s Millennium Theater, Hershey Pennsylvania, Hershey School, Hershey’s Chocolate World, Hotel Hershey, Wheatland – the Presidential Home of James Buchannan, Gettysburg and the National Battlefield, and a tour of the Eisenhower Farm were some of the other highlights of our trip.
Time spent on these travels, whether near or far, contribute to relationships that last a lifetime.
