Just The Right Time For You To Be A Part Of Fellowship, Bible Study, Children’s Activities and Musical Programs
The Madison First Wonderful Wednesday tradition of “Family Night Supper” continues. This is a gathering of our church family and friends to enjoy a home-style meal each Wednesday evening from 5:30 – 6:30 in the church fellowship hall. All church members and visitors are welcome to join us for this informal meal and time of Christian fellowship – whether you have a family or come alone, there is a place set for you at our table.
Catered by Ernestine Allen and served buffet style, there is something for every appetite, including a special children’s meal. Wednesday suppers are a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and catch up with old ones, a time of sharing joys and concerns and celebrating special events. Reservations can be made by calling the church office at 342-3325 by noon on Mondays.
Following the meal, there are activities for all ages. The children participate in children’s choir, Bible classes and a contemporary Kid’s Praise and Worship service. During the Wonderful Wednesday classes, Primary School children will be rehearsing “Calling All Angels”, a story that embraces the Annunciation, the season of Advent, and the Christmas event. Leanne Wadsworth will also be teaching the children to play the hand chimes for our Sunday services.
For adults, there are Bible study classes offered after the Wednesday meal. This fall, there are two classes offered – Pastor Kirk Bozeman is leading a class on “The Great Debates of the Bible”, while John Miles is leading a study on the books of Colossians and Philemon. Both of these classes provide not only opportunities to learn more about our faith and how the Scripture relates to our daily lives, but also to build meaningful and lasting relationships with others in the church family.
Wednesday nights are an opportunity to take the next step in involvement at Madison First. If you have not visited us on a Wednesday night, we encourage you to come and join us as we step out together in a journey of faith, fellowship and discovery at Madison First United Methodist Church.
