Just the Right Mix to Keep Them Interested and Growing
First United Methodist Church of Madison has a vibrant youth ministry that promotes spiritual growth and keeps our teenagers engaged and involved. We meet each week on Sunday evenings from 6-8 PM. During this UMYF time the Junior High and Senior High Youth meet together for snack and supper until 6:30. Each group then has a devotional time designed to challenge our youth to learn and grow in faith and to seek God’s will in their lives. Devotionals are followed by a fun activity. Some activities are tame…while others are a bit more exciting. Some of these activities include swimming, ultimate Frisbee, egg drop, marshmallow wars and water balloon fights. A great time is had by all!
 On Wednesday evening our youth are encouraged to participate in our in depth Bible study. This group meets from 6:00 until 7:30 following our Family night supper. Sixth graders participate in a confirmation series called “Claim the Name” (CTN) This class explores how one Claims the name of Christ and all the sacrifice he has made for themselves.
Once a month (more often in the summer) we have a youth outing. Some of our trips include Six Flags, a summer beach retreat, white water rafting, pool parties, and water skiing are just a few.
